Winery "Imperator&Salaxia" is proud certificate of Demeter, which means it is the first biodynamic winery in Serbia which thoroughly researched the soil, vines and surroundings in order to create unique wines. Vineyards are located nearby Rakovac Monastery and Fruška Gora National Park, providing maximum harmony with nature and resulting in an impressive range of wines.
The name "Imperator" refers to the history in Srem, where the Roman emperors were born, and the wines themselves were named after them: Claudius, Maximilianus, Flavius... "Salaxia", on the other hand, got its name from the stretch of the same name that is located above Rakovac, and was still written in the 18th century, while the abbreviation of the name of the restaurant is "Fruška gora i gastronomy" - explains the director Darko Calaba.
The "FIG" restaurant, located inside the winery, offers a pleasant ambience surrounded by nature, green lawns and the shade of trees. With soft music, guests immediately feel the peace and forget about the hustle and bustle of the city. The menu includes a variety of meat and vegetarian dishes, including cured meat selections and specialties such as rabbit, steak tartare, veggie sarmica and homemade pastas. Chef Marko Acimović, with extensive experience in Italian cuisine, brings creativity to the preparation of dishes, including unusual ways of using vegetables.
Gibanica, baked in a charcoal oven, with with a mix of Fruška Gora cheeses, became the favorite choice of guests. For dessert, you can enjoy black or yellow cream with crispy crusts. The restaurant also offers wine tastings and a tasting menu, along with a tour of the winery, making the experience even richer and more interactive.
